We are happy to announce the opening of a new office in Dublin, Ireland as of the 1st of July, 2017!

While Andovar opened for business in Singapore and Thailand over 10 years ago, we have always pursued a global vision and have built a solid customer base spanning all continents. In order to facilitate customer service and to strategically shift production to low-cost locations, Andovar opened offices in Colombia in 2011 and India in 2014. However, this left an obvious missing piece of our global puzzle vacant in Europe. The Dublin office now slots definitively into that void.

The new Dún Laoghaire office (an Irish Gaelic name pronounced “done leery”) is in the heart of an exciting town in County Dublin. The town is a marina and port on the coast of Ireland, 12km south of Dublin city center, accessible by a 30-minute ride on the DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit). The train ride is renowned for its scenic views of the Irish Sea. It is also about half-an-hour away from Dublin Airport, which serves as the headquarters of Ireland’s flag carrier Aer Lingus, and Europe’s largest low-cost airline Ryanair.

Why Dublin?

There are many reasons why we selected Dublin as the location of our European office:

  • Ireland features one of the most fluid markets in Europe and provides low corporate tax. As a vibrant member of the European Union, the Republic of Ireland enjoys privileged access to European markets; and significantly, it will be the only country sharing a border with post-Brexit United Kingdom.
  • Ireland can be thought of fondly as the home and heart of the modern localization industry. After years of evolving globalization in Europe, Ireland is still an important center of expertise and technical precision for the industry. We can already see evidence of this in the high caliber of our first hires.
  • Since the late 1990s, the University of Limerick offers the world’s first dedicated postgraduate program in localization, while Dublin City University offers an MA in Translation Studies. As a result, many global corporations such as Microsoft, Oracle, Dell, Facebook, Goggle and LinkedIn have located their localization departments in Ireland. This gives us access not only to a wide range of potential clients, but also probably the largest pool of localization expertise anywhere in the world.
  • Last, but not least, Dublin is the former home and birthplace of Andovar’s founder and CEO, Conor Bracken.

Plans for Dublin Office

We anticipate a significant growth of business from the region. Therefore, the Dublin office will form an integral part of the Andovar network of professionals in all the main areas of service: business and account development, project management, localization engineering, and much more. We welcome the expansion in our ability to service our existing clients and attract new one thanks to improved support and account management, as well as competitive pricing and our turnkey range of services.

To our Dublin team in the photo above we say: Go n-éirí leat! (Good luck!)
